Desire, happiness, success, prosperity

What's important for all of us? Answer - happiness, success, prosperity From the time of Aristotle we have understood that happiness is the universal human goal. Of course it's a truism that happiness is something different for different people - or at different stages in a single life. As a child something bright and shiny in a shop window becomes the whole world. I want to suggest that it makes sense to look at all areas of your live. One way to do that is to use a pyramid of needs that we all have. This was worked out by a psychologist called Maslow. His pyramid diagram has 5 levels of needs that we all have; Self-actualization is at the top, Esteem comes next, then Love & Belonging, next is Safety and lastly at the bottom there is Physiological needs Here are the needs within the 5 levels:- Self-actualization morality creativity spontaneity problem-solving lack of prejudice acceptance of facts Esteem self-esteem confidence achievement respect of others respect by others Love/Belonging friendship family sexual intimacy Safety security of body of employment of resources of morality of the family of health of property Physiological breathing food water sex sleep homeostasis As we mature as human beings we not only satisfy the needs within the lower levels but those in the upper levels as well. Of course how much time we can give to the upper levels depends on our particular circumstances. Nevertheless like flowers when the sun comes out we yearn upwards to those higher levels! All good wishes - much more is coming soon! -----0----- NB This is a how-to site how-to change our lives and change ourselves.
