Success Principles
UNIVERSAL LAWS for motivation in achieving success, happiness and prosperity 'Never hope to succeed by attempting to violate Universal Laws' These principles for successful living are mainly collected from reading the books of Brian Tracy plus some other sources and few variations of my own. Don't think that this is the complete list because Brian Tracy (Create Your Own Future p.139) says that his friend Kop Kopmeyer studied successful people for 50 years. He read 6,0000 books on success and derived 1,000 principles from his research.... the most important of which was, 'Learn from the experts.' Brian Tracy is a master in the field of motivational speaking and writing. Two good starting points are his CD The Psychology of Achievement and his books 'Change Your Thinking Change Your Life, Create Your Own Future and Focal Point ABUNDANCE We live in a universe of unlimited abundance where there is plenty for everyone who knows how to get it. Your ability to think and generate new ideas represents your true wealth. ACCUMULATION As you save your money, and you invest that money, with your own emotions of hope and desire that money develops a force-field of energy around it and begins to attract more money around it to go with it. ACTION and REACTION For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Put another way, actions have consequences. APPLIED EFFORT Any goal, task or activity is amenable to the sustained effort of hard work. ATTRACTION You are a 'living magnet' and you inevitably attract the people and circumstances into your life that harmonize your dominant thoughts, especially those thoughts that you emotionalize strongly. AVERAGES Although you cannot predict which one of a series of events will be successful, by the law of averages you know that by doing a certain thing a number of times you will achieve your goal. BELIEF Whatever you believe, with feeling, becomes your reality. The greater the intensity of your belief, the more emotion you combine with it, the greater the impact it has on your behaviour and on everything that happens to you. CAUSE and EFFECT For every effect in your life, there are specific causes. Everything happens for a reason. Success is not an accident. Failure is not an accident either. COHEN's Murphy was an optimist! COMPENSATION You get out what you put in, and the more you put in, the more you get out. COMPLEXITY The level of complexity of any task is equal to the square of the number of different steps in that task. Complexity can be defined as the potential for increased costs, time or mistakes. CONCENTRATION Whatever you dwell upon grows in your life. Life is the study of attention. Where your attention goes your heart goes also. Your ability to avert your attention from activities of lower value to activities of higher value is central to everything you accomplish in life. CONSERVATION It is not how much you earn, but how much you keep that counts. CONTROL It is the principle of goal orientation. You feel positive about yourself to the degree to which you feel you are in control of your own life. You feel negative about yourself to the degree you feel you are not in control, or that you are controlled by external forces or other people. CORRESPONDENCE Correspondence says that your outer world will always reflect your inner world. To change anything in your outer world, you must begin changing what is in your inner world. CREDIBILITY The more people believe you and trust you, the easier it is for them to work with you and do business with you. DECISION Any clear, specific decision clears your mind and activates your creativity HABIT Your behaviour is governed by your habits; in the absence of a clear decision on your part, or some external stimulus, you will keep on behaving the same way indefinitely. (= Newton's Law of Inertia 'a body in motion tends to remain in motion unless acted upon by an external force') HEART-MIND Your interiority or consciousness (+ re-callable sub-consciousness) - feelings and mind as a single set of dynamics INDIRECT EFFORT Most often you get what you want with people indirectly rather than directly, in fact if you to attempt to get other people to help you, or cooperate with you directly, you will often end up looking foolish or drive those people away. Concentrate on being a good friend, ask them questions and listen. Be empathetic. Look for ways to help. INTEGRATIVE COMPLEXITY In every group of individuals, the person who can absorb, integrate and apply the greatest quantity of essential information will eventually dominate all the other individuals in that group. INVESTING Investigate before you invest. LOVE Everything you do in life is either to get love, or to compensate for lack of love. You will only be truly successful and happy when you commit yourself wholeheartedly to doing what you most love to do. LOVE 2 Love is – letting go of fear MENTAL EQUIVALENTS What you experience in your life is the mental equivalent of what you create in your mind. MIND Thoughts objectify themselves. Thoughts held in mind produce after their kind. PROBABILITIES For every event there is a probability occurring under certain circumstances. RECIPROCITY If you do something for another person, that other person will want to do something for you. He will want to reciprocate in some way so he does not feel a sense of obligation. RELATIONSHIPS Relationships are essential: the more people who know you and think of you in a positive way the more opportunities you will have to achieve your goals. RELAXATION In all mental working, effort defeats itself. This means that the more you relax and let go and turn problems over to your super-conscious mind, the more rapidly it will solve them for you. REPULSION You automatically drive away or repel people and circumstances that are not in harmony with your dominant thoughts. REVERSIBILITY You can develop within yourself the values, beliefs, and qualities you most admire by acting as if you already had them whenever they are called for by the circumstances of your life eg: to develop courage, force yourself to act courageously even when you are afraid. To develop integrity speak and act with complete honesty, even if you feel like shading the truth or cutting corners. Soon your beliefs will mirror your acts, and your acts will mirror your beliefs. SERVICE Your rewards in life will always be equal to the value of your service to others. SOWING and REAPING The law of sowing and reaping is not the law of reaping and sowing. You have to put in before you get out. You have to give before you receive. You have to pay the price before you enjoy the reward. SUBCONSCIOUS ACTIVITY Whatever you repeat over and over to yourself in your conscious mind will eventually be accepted by . sub-conscious mind. Once your sub-conscious accepts your conscious thoughts as commands, it passes them on to your super-conscious mind, which then works 24 hours a day to bring to those goals into your life. SUPER-CONSCIOUS ACTIVITY or ABILITY Any thought, idea, plan or goal held continuously in the conscious mind must be brought into reality by the super-conscious mind which Tracy defines as the source of all inspiration, imagination, intuition, insights, ideas and hunches. It is the power house that, when properly programmed and directed can bring you anything that you really want. Emerson called it the over-soul, Anderson the universal sub-conscious mind, Jung, the supra-conscious mind, Napoleon Hill the infinite intelligence. Tracy reckons that all breakthroughs and art come as a result of the super-conscious mind. SUBSTITUTION: Your mind can hold only one thought at a time, positive or negative. You can substitute a positive thought for a negative thought whenever you choose. USE (of mind etc.) If you don't use it you lose it. and the final law on the list is; WALK-ON: get up, dust yourself down and walk-on – even when it was yourself that tripped you up! -----0----- Whether you consider these laws or principles laws in the scientific sense or simply social principles through which we can achieve more doesn't really matter. If the laws work they are worth living by!
