Motivate yourself and others Motivation is the desire we have to achieve a goal, combined with the energy to work towards that goal. Both elements are necessary; desire and the required energy. We can become de-motivated if we are anxious, confused, frustrated, angry, uncertain or depressed. Transforming any of these negatives generates energy, one of the two defining characteristics of motivation. We have a responsibility to ourselves and to those for whom we have a caring relationship to keep the average of our motivation as a high as possible. In development
