REALITY - engage with it - get real!

IF YOU ONLY HAVE TIME FOR ACTION HERE ARE 3 SUGGESTIONS

There are 3 ways of engaging with reality - subjectively, objectively and morally. These are the three voices of the human spirit that as disciplines are called the Arts, The Sciences and the Humanities.

1) Find a form of artistic expression to balance your other ways of being, knowing and doing.

2) Find a form of scientific/logical expression to balance your other ways of being, knowing and doing.

3) Find a form of moral expression to balance your other ways of being, knowing and doing.

NB The three ways of engaging with reality don't have to be equal - there simply has to be a sufficiency of your non-dominant forms - sugar and salt are vital in foods - but more than sufficient is not good.

SOME THEORY IN A NUTSHELL

There are 3 inner ways of engaging with reality -

1) via the I voice of subjectivity - I tell you via some creative/art form of expression what it is to be me and what the world is from where I am.

2) via the IT voice of objectivity - I give account of reality via science or logic

3) via the WE voice of culture, including morality - I give account of what is morally true according to one or more of the groups to which we belong, or whose authority we both accept.

Illusion, Reality, Oneness and Duality

The message about the necessity to strive to let go the hell of attachment via the ego, and realize that Whole of which we are an infinitesimal manifestation, comes in various forms. Here is one;

You live in illusions

and the appearance of things.

There is Reality,

you are that Reality.

When you recognize this

you will realize that you are no thing and being no thing are everything.

PS from RP - But for an educational, developmental perspective duality is as vital as achieving experience of singleness. The two are like a pair of scissors - not just for cutting into reality but to understand how we grow and develop.

We don’t so much come back to earth with a bump, we re-enter duality with a jolt so as to enable the impulse from oneness to take us a bit further.

We need duality as well as oneness just as we need form as well as spirit.
